So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

There have been a few disappointing reports in the past few days about the disappearance of the Sea Lions from Pier 39 in San Francisco. Here is a report in the New Times, and another from Wired Magazine. LeAnn and I visited San Francisco last spring and we had a blast at Pier 39 listening to the bark of the Sea Lions, catching a great view of Alcatraz, and shopping for salt water taffy. Here are a few pictures from our afternoon at Pier 39.

Pearl Harbor Day

In memory of Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, here are some pictures LeAnn and I took while on our honeymoon last summer.

Magnolia Blossoms

There are a few signs of Spring, even if it is not very warm.  At least it is not snowing.

Hawaii Pictures (Finally) Online

Palm trees along the North Shore of Oahu.I finally uploaded some pictures from our honeymoon trip to Hawaii last summer.  I’m on Spring Break but it is snowing right now (seriously, not an April Fools joke), so it was great to spend time sorting through pictures of real sunshine.

LeAnn and I were married on August 8, 2008 and then we flew to Maui on August 10.  We stayed at the Hyatt Regency at Kaanapali Beach until August 16, then we flew to Honolulu and stayed at the Moana Surfrider at Waikiki Beach until August 20.

I didn’t have time to write captions for every picture like I did for the Europe gallery, so if you have a question about where a picture was taken, leave a question in the comments.

White Christmas

Merry Christmas from Eric, LeAnn, and Hurley!

Merry Christmas from Eric, LeAnn, and Hurley

After getting some rain and melting yesterday, we were surprised to wake up and see more snow.  It doesn’t look like we will get out to see the opening of Marley and Me, but having Hurley around is the next best thing.   This is a much wetter snow then the past week, so we were finally able to build a snowman.  However, nothing lasts long with Hurley around.  He managed to devour our snowman within minutes of its completion.

More Snow

Hopefully this will be the last post I write that uses the phrase “most snow I have ever seen in Seattle”.  It snowed pretty much the whole day yesterday and well into the night.  We awoke this morning to the winter scene pictured in this gallery.

Buried in Snow

Another view of snow on our Holly tree. After Wednesday’s snow-no-show, we have been hit by several snowfalls so we started winter vacation three days early.  After last night’s snowstorm, we are pretty much snowed in.  This is one of the heaviest snow falls I have ever seen in Seattle, with snow drifts piling up against the house.  We were also surprised this morning that the snow had a solid top layer of ice.

Here are some pictures from the last several days, including more of Hurley frolicking in the now dog-knee-deep snow.  It is snowing again as I write this.  Looks like it will be a White Christmas.
